Is an Online MBA Degree Program From Accredited Universities Worth Pursuing?

Online schools and degree programs have become extremely popular within recent years. This is partly due to the convenient nature of obtaining a degree through the Internet. However, web based accredited college programs can also be just as informative as in class college degrees and employers do view them as valid programs. In many ways they are very similar to a traditional classroom, with the added benefit of not having to attend a weekly class.

One of the most popular degrees is the MBA, or Master of Business Administration. The Masters in administration is a broad business program that encompasses administration, accounting, economics, management, leadership, computer, and project management courses. An MBA can be used in numerous fields of work and is an effective degree for many different careers.

A web based business administration masters degree will cover all of the same courses that are included in an in class MBA program. The main difference is that the student attends an online virtual classroom in lieu of a physical room. The internet class is structured in the same way as a regular course. The student is in a class of 15-25 students and has an electronic book that he or she purchases. The student will log into the class through the school’s website. From there, one is able to view the other student’s names, the teacher’s name and information, the syllabus, and their grade tracking system.

Classroom discussions are conducted by the teacher posting a question and students replying to those questions, creating threads. The unique and convenient part is that students can log in and answer the questions at any point during the week. Therefore, one does not have to be in the classroom at a specific time but is still receiving the benefit of a classroom discussion, similar to an in class dialogging.
